Cherished moments of beauty in a story that is uniquely yours
Based just a couple of miles from downtown Chicago in Lincoln Park, K & K Celebrates is proud to call the Windy City home. Founders Kim and Kristie both live here too.
“Event planning in Chicago feels both familiar and precious; it’s an opportunity for us to showcase where we’re from in the best possible light, and introduce our clients and their guests to the best this wonderful city has to offer”.
We plan events across the whole Chicago metropolitan city area, from downtown to the surrounding neighborhoods and up to the North Shore, with its stunning views across Lake Michigan.
We prioritize venues of historical significance and architectural impact as the locations for our clients’ celebrations, which means we are drawn to many incredible spaces across the city. From Cafe Brauer and the Old Post Office to Lyric Opera House and Chicago Union Station, the Chicago Athletic Association and the University Club of Chicago to the Union League Club and the Theater on the Lake, we adore spaces with heritage, impact, finesse, and thoughtfulness - spaces which interact with the Chicago landscapes they sit within.
A K & K Celebrates Chicago wedding feels incredibly rooted; your beautiful event celebrates your love, here and now, set against the great history and heritage of this incredible city.

Wedding FAQs
-
“Wedding season” in Chicago is May through October, although people may certainly choose to marry outside this period. Securing your wedding date with your chosen venues and top-tier vendors during wedding season requires us to make bookings 12 to 18 months in advance.
If you don’t have that timeline, never fear, but do be aware that the level of popularity through this period will likely leave you with fewer options to choose from.
-
There are many common restrictions and hurdles in Chicago, from noise control to liquor legislation to historic building preservation rules. We are well-versed and very well-equipped to manage historic building restrictions, sound ordinances and tight downtown load-in times, along with anything else your venue can throw at us!
-
City parking is very limited, and we are always on high traffic alert when mapping out routes, to ensure we are prepared. It’s something we cannot control but we can certainly be very aware of and sensitive to.
We highly encourage our clients to arrange transportation for guests and the wedding party, due to limited city parking and to be as efficient with timing as it is possible to be.
-
Your wedding day logistics can be drastically affected by large-scale, city-wide events. With events like Lollapalooza and the Chicago Marathon, this causes massive street closures and higher than usual hotel rates. That’s why we’ll always cross-reference your suggested date with the city's major event calendar early, to either suggest a reschedule or make sure we work around any restrictions we’re likely to face.

Nearly every venue in Chicago has a preferred vendor list, and some are more strict than others, and for good reason. We always vet vendors for our couples, as we hold the ultimate responsibility for a good vendor experience.
We’re happy to consider vendor suggestions, and already have many venues’ ‘preferred vendors’ in our little black book, but our preferred vendors - the ones we know, and trust to deliver efficiently, beautifully, and at the highest standard - are always the ones we’ll recommend first. We have to ensure we feel confident in selecting the right vendors for our couples based on their needs, and how well aligned they are with the event vision.
